Uneventful so far

June 27, 2008 | Anchorage Weekend Roady

Aside from a small traffic jam on the way up and a hiccup with Fred’s ticket, it’s been uneventful. We board in 35 minutes. There are 1,456 people waiting to get on the airplane with us and it’ almost 400 degrees in the terminal. — jt

We took Annabelle to a carnival set up in the parking lot of a strip mall Wednesday night.  She loved it.  And you get to see it.  Video’s below.  Enjoy.

Graphic novel draft renders

June 25, 2008 | Self-Promotion

I’m pressing forward with my graphic novel.  I’ll be using a few different pieces of software to create it.  Primarily, the artwork will be built in 3-D programs.  In particular, I’ll be using Poser, Carrara and others to build almost everything on the pages.

Here’s a sample of some of the work.  The render of the main character uses props (the guns, specifically) I did not create.  So, I created him his own weapon.  That’s the other renders you see here.  The gun needs textures still, so it’s a draft at best.  It’s taken about 10 hours of actual creation time, but much of that is learning 3-D modeling, too.

The gun also needs a name.  Any ideas?

Bye bye Scion, hello truck

June 24, 2008 | Announcements, Self-Promotion

Represenation of my new truckI bought a pick-up truck.  I said goodbye to my 2005 Scion xB and bought a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT quad cab.  It’s black with fantastic chrome accents.  It probably gets between zero and very little miles per gallon.  However, I’m very happy with the purchase.  Denise is, too.  Let me explain.

We’ve been doing plenty of tasks to make our home better.  I’m laying a slab of cement as we speak.  We recently made some big changes to our master bedroom.  We’re going to make some changes to the master bathroom.  A myriad other things happened and happening.  Key here is: we could have used a pick-up truck.  That’s especially true moving furniture, and much more.

June 21, 2008 | Announcements

Found today in Fort Valley, Ga.  The world’s largest Peach Cobbler.  People stood in a long line for hours to eat it … except my mother-in-law.  See the end of the video to find out why.

Cowherd Wrong About Spygate

May 15, 2008 | Sports

It’s rare that I disagree with Colin Cowherd on a lot of issues.  As he often says, his arguments are reasonable.  He’s thought them through.  He’s also entertaining.  In listening to Mr. Cowherd, he sounds like a smart man who “gets it.”  However, he’s wrong about “Spygate” and its effects on the National Football League.

Spygate has been one of those topics Mr. Cowherd has beaten into the ground.  Either he is very interested in it or his employers want to keep the NFL in the forefront of ESPN Radio programming.  ESPN has a vested interest in doing this.  However, so does the watching and listening public.  We rank football head and shoulders above any sport in terms of viewing and listening habits.  As he often says, he is giving us what we want.  I wouldn’t mind so much him beating it into the ground.  But he’s wrong here just as he was wrong on steroids.  However, in pointing this out, there are broader issues to be addresses.  First, Spygate.
