“I … am Bruce Dickenson … that’s right THE … Bruce Dickenson.”
After weekend in Spain, tonight I’ll be in Munich for a quiet little show that features a airline pilot, a mascot that looks a cross between Joan Rivers and Gollum, and someone named Niko McBrain.
They’ve written songs about Icarus and Dune. They’ve lyrisized “Charge of the Light Brigade.” Their lead singer, Bruce Dickenson, is a commercial pilot and flis the band around in a custom-painted jet.
Pass me my leather chaps and spikes. It’s Iron Maiden tonight!
Although sold out, a friend and I managed to get tickets (at about $130 a pop … FUUUUUUUUUUU). Still how can you pass on the opportunity to see a seminal heavy metal band that defined a genre for so many years?
This will be my first time “upping the irons,” and I hope to provide a wealth of photos and experience notes. Look for a post game report Wednesday.
Up the Irons! And, please note your concert experiences below.
